The Red Barn building was constructed in 1960 for a recently paralyzed man by locals who donated their labor, and the building shows that with its uneven floors and other quirks. Evidence of the original knob and tube wiring is present via an old fuse box cover in a corner. At some point, the insurance company required that the wiring be updated. So, that's good. It's only my second visit, but I enjoy dining here. The food quality is good and the waitstaff provide good service. It's always busy since it's a favorite with the locals. There's a small dirt lot across the road that can accommodate one or two trucks.

What a great restaurant! For starters I had the small order of crab claws and man they were good. For my entree I ordered the 14oz ribeye with slaw and a baked sweet potato. The steak was cooked just right and seasoned to perfection. The sweet potato was great. Now the slaw was absolutely fire! Some of the best slaw I've had. The waitress (she made the slaw) was excellent! I will definitely be back my next trip to Demopolis.

We are traveling by boat and stored in Demopolis and we decided to eat here and we were glad we did! Service was excellent , the food was great and the portions were large. The Cajun Combo, the onion rings, the catfish and the fried pickles all were excellent!

We went kinda early on a Saturday Night and it was fine. Service was great, food looked good...... but by the time it came out, it was cold. The hottest thing on the plate was the foil-wrapped baked potato. We were served cold pork, steak, and chicken. Not sure about the fish bc it was packed to go first..... it was all packed to go so we could heat it and eat it at home. I was all good, just served cold after a 45 min wait.

My boyfriend and I ate here on one of our date nights. We called in our order because we were running a little late, and it was ready within 5 minutes of us getting there and being seated. The food was wonderful! The only issue I had was that the pork tenderloin was a little tough. It was still really good though. Our server was very nice and checked on us often. They had live music upstairs in the bar, so we ended up staying a lot longer than we’d planned. We had a great time though!

I chose The Red Barn for my birthday dinner this year, even though we live about two hours away (long story). In addition to celebrating my birthday, we met some of my wife's friends from her teenage years in Demopolis and Gallion. While we were waiting for the rest of our party to arrive, I ordered the Red Barn appetizer sampler. It included cheese curds, Conecuh smoked sausage, chicken wings and onion rings. Everything on the platter was fresh and tasty. For dinner, I chose the Filet Mignon, salad and loaded baked potato. My wife decided on chicken tenders with homemade potato chips. My meal was very good with the exception that my steak (ordered medium rare) was a bit underdone. The chicken tenders and potato chips were excellent. Service was superior (thanks Paige). The Red Barn is an institution in the Demopolis area. You can tell it has been there a long time based on its weathered and worn appearance. A rustic, dark interior with worn, creaky floor boards add to the country roadside ambiance. Don't judge the food by the outward appearance. The Red Barn has the staying power that is a testament to the quality of food served here.
